Toolkit 2: Mudbox - Creating a Final Model


In order to create a final model showcasing what i have learnt through the Mudbox tutorials, I thought it best to create a preexisting character, made up of both more organic and structured shapes. From this I decided on creating a Pencil Bird from Disney's Alice In Wonderland. I had seen Hailey Haddox physically sculpt these characters, so I used her work as a reference to work from. Having a sort of orthographic reference really helped me work out how to model the bird within a 3D space.

I just made the head for this model, for a first try. I first blocked it out in Maya and exported as an OBJ file into mudbox to work on.
