Collaboration: Knockout Studios- Character Design: Penny

For Penny's look, the studio relied on symbolism to help convey Penny's personality. There was a focus on incorporating greens and clovers into her design to help illustrate this. Inspiration for her generally joyful personality was found in romantic comedy actresses such as Amy Adams.​

These are the first designs for the character Penny. Penny was designed to play on the 'happy-go-lucky' stereotype. She has an overall jolly demeanour, though she does get quite bashful at times. She's also somewhat superstitious.

Penny is fun-loving with an open-mind. Although very superstitious, she often tries to make the best of a situation and always looks for the silver lining. ​

​Penny is frequently seen wearing her four-leaf clover necklace that supposedly brings her luck - however, this doesn't always seem to be the case since it appears that most of her dates fail in the same fashion that Lucky's have done; due to her own clumsiness. ​

​Although she might feel her luck is dissipating towards the end of the short, there is always the potential that Lucky will be the one to bring back her spark.​
